July 6th - Museums in Short 2016 winners have been announced at the MiCo (Milano Convention Center), as part of the XXIV International Conference ICOM "Museums and cultural landscapes".
Most popular video is “Murtosa”, presented by the Comur - Museu Municipal, Portugal. This short received almost 400 votes in only five days.
The Special Award ICOM Milan in 2016, dedicated to the relationship between museums and landscapes, went to the Stiftung Domäne Dahlem - Landgut und Museum, Germany.
Museums in Spot, the Prize for very short video conceived to promote museums or exhibitions, went to Micropia (The Netherlands) .
Finally, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (New Dehli, India) won the Museums in Short Award.
The delivery of the Prizes will take place in autumn, in an international, dedicated event.
Worth noting is the enormous visibility ensured by social channels: at the time of delivery of the Awards, audience reached in five days by the finalists video was of 267,157 people; 61,120 are the people who have seen at least one video; more than 1,000 are the voters.
Museums in Short aims to broaden the knowledge of the role of museums, both in the technical field that of historical or artistic, as innovative players in the field of video production. This is an initiative of international scope and high quality, as confirmed by the participation of the reality of international prestige such as the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Van Gogh Museum.
